Day 4
The first full day in Kenya was extremely successful in distributing the mobility devices; they gave one wheelchair, four canes and one pair of crutches to local individuals with disabilities. Through conversations with those individuals, the group discovered that the disabilities were caused by accidents and environmental issues. This information drove some of the Interactors to want to start projects to help prevent the cause of the injuries when they return home.
After leaving the distribution site, the team headed to the Naivasha Girl's School. There the team was able to interact with students their age. They planted trees in the schools garden and were helped by the students.
After the school, the team headed to Olive Resort where the joint Rotary/Rotract meeting was being held. They had dinner and were able to meet many Rotarians and Rotractors, who shared with them unique dances and songs from various places and cultures.
